Q: Cannot find Time Capsule/not available

Greetings,

I have had my Time Capsule a couple years. A few days ago I noticed my Mac was no longer backing up. The TC does not appear in Finder or AP Utility (I have to go through “Configure Other” to connect to it at all). I tried resetting it, but it only worked correctly for a couple hours.

Any help?

The are numerous post related to this here at the Apple Support Communities (ASC)

One "solution" relates to those who have configured their base stations for Back to My Mac. If you have done so, the recommended course of action is to temporarily remove or disable this option, as follows:

    • Run the AirPort Utility.
    • Select the base station, and then, select Edit.
      • Note: You may need to use the "Configure Other…" option in order to access the base station. Enter the base station's IP address, the default is: 10.0.1.1, and the base station administrator's password when prompted.
    • On the Base Station tab, go to the Back to My Mac section at the bottom of the window.
    • If you have any entries here, select it and then, click on the minus "-" button to delete it.
    • Click up Update and allow the base station to restart.

If this is such a common issue, I wonder why Apple hasn't release a patch. Thanks for the help.
