Q: color bar line on start up, then black screen, then startup is fine

macOS Sierra - macOS 10.12 Beta (16A294a)

MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011)

2.2GHz MacBook Pro (MC723LL/A)

Intel Core i7

Intel HD Graphics 3000 -512MB and AMD Radeon HD 6750M (1024MB) with automatic graphics switching

Processor: 2.2GHz

Memory 16GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Start Up Disk: 1TB - Samsung 850 SSD

Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 3000 512mb & AMD Radeon HD 6750M - 1024 MB

Here is the situation - When I initially push the power button - the screen comes on, apple logo come up, start up bar starts filling in across the screen and at the 1/2 way point I get an odd color line (pic 1).

Then the screen goes black for a second or 2 (pic 2).

Then boot up bar comes back on and completes. (pic 3)

Then I can log in.  (pic 4).

Other than the log in issue, there does not seem to be any other issues.  Systems has passed diagnostics.  I have reset NVRAM & SMC.

Anyone know what is going on?

Any help is appreciated.  I purchased the MBP, used, from a seller on Amazon.

I had this issue too but it is now resolved at the Apple store. They had seen it before on older hardware that was upgraded to Sierra with FireVault turned on and occurs when the OS is switching graphics modes. I just had my logic board replaced so wanted it resolved.

We tried turning off FireVault but the issue was still there. They then successfully installed a fresh copy of an Mavericks and the issue was gone. Then they installed a fresh copy of Sierra and the issue was still gone. Now I have re-enabled FireVault and the issue is still gone.
