12" macbook 2015 double cursor

My macbook cursor often skips position when I write in pages, email, notes, etc. I've brought it to Apple twice -- the first time they replaced the macbook, and the second time they replaced the top case, but neither solved the problem. The issue got so bad that I disabled tap to click, and now my cursor does not jump out of position any more.

BUT there are still often two cursors on the screen - one that precedes my typing and the other, in arrow or I form, randomly placed on the page. They don't disappear when I start typing, either. User uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Is that normal? If not, are there any suggestions of what I can do to get it fixed? I want to tap again!

A restart seems to fix this kind of problem.

If that doesn't work, scroll across the finder options until you see the "Go" menu. Press "Go" and Option at the same time, and you'll see the hidden Finder menu. Navigate to Preferences/com.apple.universalaccess.plist. Move this file to the desktop, and reboot.

If this works, the double cursor will have vanished. You can then take the file you put on your computer desktop and trash it.

Thanks for answering.

Neither solution solved my problem. I also called Apple support, and the rep had me 1) reset SMU and NVRAM, 2) boot up in safe mode, 3) create a test account and see if the problem resolved, and 4) reinstall the OS.

The first three didn't work. I don't have time to reinstall the OS until the weekend, but as this has persisted through a few installations, I don't think that will help. Assuming it doesn't, she told me to bring it back to the store and see if they can find the problem.
