I totally understand wanting to get the most out of your storage and if it's not working out, go ahead and downgrade back. We can check out steps to do that.
Take a look at this article: iCloud storage upgrades and downgrades - Apple Support
Under "Downgrade your iCloud storage plan", about halfway down the page, it shows how to change your storage plan on whichever device you use.
