    Try resetting the App Store:

Close the App Store completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the App Store preview pane until it disappears from the screen. Then sign out of the iTunes Store (in Settings).

    Then restart the device.

Then sign back into the iTunes Store and try downloading again.

Also check Settings > General > Restrictions > and make sure that the iTunes Store, Installing Apps, Deleting Apps, and In-App Purchases are all under the Allow section.

HEy elcpu...again, when i go to the Settings General Restrictions, it is set to off...but when i click further into it...everything is set to on...but dimmed out.

do i want to turn Restrictions ON?  If i try to do that, it wants a restriction code...which i have never created...so do i want to create it and turn it on? Here are screen shots...

    Hi Gmiles,

You do not want to turn Restrictions on. With them turned off, the settings are not even considered, so you are OK as far as that goes.

You may want to try resetting your device (nothing will be lost): Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). Once you see the Apple, the device is resetting, and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly.

Once you reset, go back to your App Store app, and see if your Updates have stopped and are now showing with the Update button next to each one that needs to be updated. If you see that, then update the apps one at a time. If you do not see that, then you will have to wait.

What is happening here is that several apps are attempting to download the updates at the same time, so they are all sharing your bandwidth. It can take a while for them to all push through. The will say "Waiting" if other apps are in the process of doing the update downloads.

If you can see that at least one of the apps is showing visible signs of updating, then no matter how slow it is, the process is working. Your best bet is to just leave it to its own devices so it can get the updates completed. When I run into this sort of thing, I just plug it in and then check it the next morning.

I would highly recommend that you have it plugged into a power source, and if you wish to continue to do other things, you can also do that.

    Cheers,

TRied all of the above steps...no progress what so ever on apps updating...

ios 9.3.4 update has ruined my ipad 2.  No problems updating kindle fire or android phone, so obviously there is a problem at Apple with their app store, or they are wanting me to soend another $500 to upgrade to another ipad which will not happen.

    apple is ****** big time.

If you haven't tried turning the router off and then back on again, then do that and see if anything improves.

    THEN

I would suggest that you try to delete all of the apps that show "Waiting" from the iPad, then re-download them

    OR

You can to go Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and set up your Wifi on the iPad again

    OR

If you have an iCloud backup from before this issue occurred, then go to Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings, then set up the iPad again by restoring from the iCloud Backup

There seems to be a problem with the communications piece between the App Store and your iPad, so that would affect the iPad only - not the other devices. The steps above are all intended to clear or reset the part(s) of the

communications chain where the issue(s) are happening.

    Best of luck,

HAha!  Have tried all of your suggestions...but here is what i found after spending countless hours on this problem since updating to ios 9.3.4 on my ipad 2.

found this at appletoolbox.com...and this is insane...i had to change my date to a YEAR ahead...to 2017...and that is solving the problem...even tho it is taken an hour to half way update a 20mb app.

apple is the problem...not my router...not my internet etc.

    i am done with apple.

Performing the reset above solved my problem for my 5S.  Thanks
