Q: Takes too long to open book in iPad mini 2

I have an iPad mini 2 and I use iBooks in scroll mode. About 3 updates ago, iBooks became buggy for me. It takes too long to open a book (about 30-60 seconds) and sometimes I lose my place with changing from vertical or horizontal view. Will there be an update to fix iBooks for older iPad models? Does anyone know a quick fix?

iPad Mini, iOS 8.4

Only potentially in iOS updates (you already know that you are only talking to fellow users on here, we won't know what Apple are working on), if your iPad is still on 8.4 as your tagline says then you could try updating to the current version, 9.3.4 (you can't downgrade if you do update).

What have you tried so far ? Have you tried :

    - closing the app via the iPad's taskbar

    - done a soft-reset/reboot of the iPad

    - if neither of those had an impact, also tried backing up (and copying purchases off) and restoring

The OS is actually the most recent one. I created this thread while pressed for time and don't see an edit option.

I often have to close/reopen the app, I haven't tried the second option.

See if that makes any difference.
