Glitches in AAC files created from Track-At-Once CDs

When creating AAC files from old Track-at-Once* Redbook CDs using iTunes 12.4.3.1, I'm getting an annoying hiccup within the first 2 seconds of every song. It sounds like fraction of a second of audio is repeated. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

The CD drive is the Apple USB 3.0 Superdrive

*Virtually all "standard" audio CDs now are burnt Disc-at-Once where the laser is on for the entire burn, as distinct from Track-At-Once where the laser is turned off between writing each track, wasting a couple of sectors on the disc.

Thanks for the suggestion Limnos. I have other tools for importing directly from CD too.

My point is that I believe iTunes should handle this situation.

Since my first post, I've tested sn import on a friend's iMac, older version, OSX 10.9 and could not replicate the problem.

I'd like to determine if the root of the problem is the Mac Superdrive or iTunes itself.

I'd like to determine if the root of the problem is the Mac Superdrive or iTunes itself.

Your situation and a guide for troubleshooting:

Is it iTunes or the Superdrive?

Remove iTunes from the equation and if the CD rips properly that suggests it is an iTunes issue. If the CD still skips that suggests it is not an iTunes issue and then possibly the Superdrive.
