Q: SSD Compatibility

Hi, I want to change HDD in my MBP October 2009 and from the ones available today I chose

Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, MZ-75E500B

I would like to know if its compatible with my MBP (Oct 2009, 8GB RAM, current HDD SATA 250GB Hitachi)

Thank you.

P

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Get the Samsung Evo 850 SSD. It is backward compatible with Sata-2.

Or you could get the OCZ trion 150-series SSD.

Just remember to enable trim support for your non-owc SSD.

Open "terminal app" and enter this command. "sudo trimforce enable"

You will be much happier with an SSD than a Slow rotational hard-drive.

Thank you for the tip. Today I found Crucial BX200 480GB cheaper than the Samsung I already mentioned so I am deciding between those 2... I got many positive experiences with Samsung, none with Crucial...
