password keeps being reset - not be me

Hello,

Since yesterday I got an email stating an login was attempted from an unrecognized device on my icloud account, I immediately changed my passwords for all emails and apple. Since then I keep getting emails that my apple id password has been reset, how is this possible? I am the only one with access to my account and its getting annoying to reset my password every time I want to login or use my phone. I get a pop up every time.

Exactly the same happened to my girlfriend phone 6 months ago and it keeps going.

Help!

Anytime you reset or change your Apple ID credentials Apple automatically sends a notification. That way if you didn't make any changes yourself, if you received a notification of a change, you can report it to Apple. It's a safeguard.

Thanks Carolyn, I know I get a notification, that is not the issue. The problem is my password being reset by someone/something else at least 4 times a day, not matter how many times I change my password few hours later I get another email saying it was reset again.

So, are you able to reset it again yourself?

When you "ignore" the messages and simple try to use the same password, what happens?

Have you considered adding 2 Step Verification or 2 Factor Authentication to your Apple ID?

Do the e-mails you receive contain a link that you are accessing? Those are scam e-mails and if you access via the link, you are giving the scammer your password.

I am able to reset it myself.

If I ignore the message the old password doesnt work.

I have requested the 2-step but takes 3 days to set it up.

No, they dont include a link, they are coming from appleid@id.apple.com so not scam.

As Eric indicated, it is a scam. If you hover over the link, you will see that it is redirecting you to: mailto:appleid@id.apple.com.... this is not an Apple site.
