    Hi caroa2,

Thanks for informing us about the issue you are having syncing your iPod nano with nikeplus.com.   The resources below will help troubleshoot this issue.  The first step is to identify which model of the iPod nano you are using.  Then, make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed on your computer.  Finally, contact Nike for support for syncing with their service.

    Identify your iPod model

    Nike + iPod

    Sync

When your run is finished, your iPod touch or iPhone wirelessly sends your workout data to nikeplus.com from wherever you are on the road. With iPod nano, your data is sent to nikeplus.com when you connect it to your Mac or PC. Go there to see all your completed runs and share motivation with runners across the world. Learn more about sync

Nike + iPod - Stay in Sync

If you walk or run with iPod nano, workout data is sent to nikeplus.com when you connect it to your Mac or PC.

Nikeplus.com keeps stats on your every step. Its intuitive interface and great graphics make it easy to see and remember each run and each workout. It helps you track your progress, analyse your performance, break your last record and see how much further you want to go. And you can check your speed, distance and calories burned — by run, by week or by month.

Nike + iPod is compatible with iPod nano (3rd generation or later), iPod touch (2nd generation or later), iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c and iPhone 5s. Not compatible with iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus.

The link below will get you in touch with Nike support.  Choose the link for the model iPod that you have (Generation 7, Generation 6, or Generation 1-5.)

How Do I Set Up Nike+ iPod on the iPod Nano

Note: Your iPod nano should be set up in iTunes and running the current software version before you get started. If you need help setting up in iTunes or installing your iPod's software, visit Apple's iPod support page.

    Enjoy your day!

I'm having the same problem. Neither Nike nor Apple seems to be interested in a solution.

    Hi caroa2,

Did you follow the step's from Nike's webpage for syncing your iPod nano 7th Gen?

How Do I Set Up Nike+ iPod on the iPod Nano

Note: Your iPod nano should be set up in iTunes and running the current software version before you get started. If you need help setting up in iTunes or installing your iPod's software, visit Apple's iPod support page.

What version of Windows and iTunes are you running?  Do you see your iPod nano in iTunes?

    GENERATION 7 IPOD NANO

The 7th generation iPod nano can be used with the Nike+ Running Sensor (using Bluetooth capabilities) or without (using the iPod nano's built-in accelerometer). Here's how to get started with each method.

Generation 7 iPod nano with Nike+ Running Sensor

Generation 7 iPod nano does not need the Nike + iPod receiver to link with the sensor. It requires only the Nike+ Running Sensor.

    1. Place your sensor in the Nike+ pocket of your shoe. (For tips on sensor placement, see our FAQ on maximizing your sensor's accuracy.)
    2. On your iPod nano's home screen, tap the Fitness icon.
    3. Tap the "i" icon in the lower right-hand corner to access your Fitness Settings.
    4. Input your height and weight (under Personal Info) and select your units of measurement and distance.
    5. Tap "Nike + iPod Sport Kit Sensor."
    6. Toggle the Sensor button to the "on" position.
    7. Tap "Link."
    8. Walk around to activate your sensor when prompted.
    9. When the screen reads "iPod has found the new sensor," you've successfully linked your sensor.

Generation 7 iPod nano without Nike+ Running Sensor

Note: If you have previous linked a Nike+ Running Sensor, before you begin you will need to switch the Sensor button to the "off" position. To do so, please tap the Fitness icon on your home screen, tap the "i" icon in the lower right-hand corner to access Fitness Settings, tap "Nike + iPod Sport Kit Sensor," and toggle the Sensor button to the "off" position.

    1. On your iPod nano's home screen, tap the Fitness icon.
    2. Tap the "i" icon in the lower right-hand corner to access your Fitness Settings.
    3. Input your height and weight (under Personal Info) and select your units of measurement and distance.

What happened when you tried?   What information was provided by Nike support?

Thanks in advance for an update on your issue.

    Take care.

    Hi StuckBoss,

I have the same issue with a nano Gen 7.  I am able to sync music, podcasts, etc.  However once I connect and iTunes first starts up I get the same error message as caroa2  in ITunes stating: iTunes could not connect to nike+. you don't have permission to access the request resource.  Once you click ok other elements are synced in iTunes.

So because iTunes is not able to connect to nikeplus server no work out data is sent.   I am able to log in to nikeplus through a browser with no issues.

some how iTunes is not able to connect and as in previous generations in iTunes you could provide your nikeplus log in details this is not longer possible so I can not check/trouble shoot why iTunes cannot connect to nikeplus

I have the exact same problem.  It tells me "iTunes cannot connect to Nike+. You do not have permission to access the requested resource."

From googling this, it seems like a problem on Nike's end because there are countless similar posts.

    I have a 6th gen ipod nano.
