Q: iPad cellular connection disconnects frequently
I have an issue with the cellular connection for my iPad Pro 9.7-inch (wifi+cellular) where the cellular internet connection disconnects about once every minute and the 3G/LTE sign at the top left disappears and the signal strength drops to 1 dot (from 5 dots). It then reconnects within 5 seconds until it happens again. I do not believe the issue is from the carrier side as my phone is connected to the same carriers and can hold a solid connection without any change in the signal strength or disconnects.
Additionally every few hours and every time the iPad is moved to a new location (from work to home) the top left corner will show "No Service" and it will only connect again to the carrier after restarting the iPad.
I have had the iPad for 3 days. It is running iOS 9.3.4. My carrier is Ooredoo in Qatar which require APN information that I had to enter for the connection to work.
So far I have tried all the following with no luck:-
- Restarting the iPad.
- Taking the SIM out and putting it back in.
- Resetting Network Settings.
- Turning off Enable LTE.
- Turning on and off Airplane Mode.
- Erasing All iPad Contents and Settings and setting up the iPad as new again.
I am out of ideas on what else I can try to fix this issue which seems to me iOS related. Is anyone facing the same issue or have any ideas on how to fix it?
I would appreciate any help I can get to get this resolved.
iPad Pro, iOS 9.3.4
