Q: Iphone will not restart?

While using my phone, there was some sort of bug where the phone was stuck on an app and I could not escape to the home screen. This bug is triggered when ever I would tap a notification from the notification bar. I usually fix this by force restarting but this time my phone is just unresponsive. The phone seems to fail to restart and every time I attempt to restart my phone the screen just goes black. I assume my phone is either bricked or hung however, when I connect it to my macbook the computer does not detect it. I tried using reiboot and iTunes but both resulted in failure. I'm really upset because I payed $600 for this phone and its brand new. My phone is the iPhone 6S with the latest software. I appreciate any help.
