Problem: 3x monitor setup / mac pro 2013

My problem


when i connect my two new benq's only one works at a time, they both have been working but when the other isn't working so connections are fine, how do i get all three monitors in total working at the same time ?



I have a mac pro 2013

16gb ram

256 flash memory

i think 4gb-6gb of video memory


Monitors i have


2x BenQ GW2270H 21.5 inch LED Monitor - Black

1x BenQ BL3201PT 32-Inch 4 K LCD Monitor - Black


I'm connecting on all different buses for thunderbolt

The Mac can only support two monitors via a legacy input (HDMI and DVI).

Additional monitors require use of an ACTIVE mini displayport>DVI or HDMI adapter. Those are more expensive than the run-of-the-mill PASSIVE mini displayport>DVI or HDMI adapter.


For DVI input for resolutions greater than 1920x1200 you need a dual-link adapter that cost about $99.


However, that does not explain why you can't get two monitors to work now. Maybe a bad cable or adopter.

- Try resetting the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM
