Q: Migration Assistance stuck looking for source

Am trying to migrate all of the data from a PowerBook G4 but keep getting stuck as MBPro doesn't see the PB.

Running El Capitan on the MBPro and Tiger on the PB, all software is up to date. Very odd as I did this once before hassle free when i bought the MBPro. No Time Machine for PB so am stumped.

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB RAM

    Hi Aaron Plaxton,

It looks like you are having some issues with migrating your data from your older Mac to your newer Mac Book Pro. The best and fastest way to get your data Migrated when running OS X Tiger is to manually migrate. The Migration Assistant will need OS X Snow Leopard or later installed on the Mac you are migrating from. Please use the link below to go through some quick and easy steps to get that data migrated.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities for help. This procedure will help transfer your data onto your MacBook Pro in no time.

    Have a good day.
