Q: Final Cut Express Won't Render

Final Cut Express won't render mov files from Lightroom - no error message, just won't do it.  Never had this problem before... Anyone else experience?  Fixes?  Ideas?  Thanks!

What are the MOV properties? (codec, frame rate, resolution). If  you open in QuickTime, it should tell you.

    Hi Russ.

I'm trying to render from Adobe Lightroom, if that helps.

    Codec: H.264, Linear PCM

    Frame rate: 23.976

    1920x1080

I've never had a problem before, even though its an older program.  I just used it six months ago and it was working.  It's Final Cut Express HD version 3.5.1.  On running on an iMac 2013 using OS X Yosemite 10.10.5.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks Russ H.

You should use MPEG Streamclip (free download) to convert (transcode) the clips to Apple Intermediate Codec. Afraid that FCE and H.264 don't play well together. (Neither did Final Cut Pro, prior to X.)
