Q: Image transformation with keyframes not linear

I want to do something very simple. I have an image that I want to scale and move over 20 or so seconds.

 

I assume the best way was to create keyframe and adjust the scale and position of the image, at the start(0 seconds) and the end(20 seconds).

 

Whilst it does kind of work I'm finding that the movement is not linear, there's like a curve in the movement which is ruining my shot. Any ideas? here's what Mean.

 

This is what I start with:

This is what I want to end up with, note how I want the image to remained aligned to the top of the canvas:

But during the transition, the top of the image curves away from the top of the canvas, like this:

And further along the transition, the top of the image extends above the canvas before ending up where I want it. My question is, why is this simple transformation not linear in movement?
