Q: How to create folders in FCPX
I am editing feature length documentary film in latest version FCPX with MAC Pro using El Capitan latest version.
My questions is: How do I create folders?
When I create a folder and try to drag an event or project into it, it doesn't accept it?? In FCP7 I could create folders easily and drag files into it.
For example: I want to create a folder that is POND. I want to add footage of the Pond filmed over several years in different seasons. Then create sub folders within POND for each of the four seasons.
What I have been able to do is create a folder than open an event and transfer the files in the event to the folder. Then the event is empty, so I guess I trash the event?? That doesn't seem to be a good workflow method. I understand I can go under smart collection and create a new smart collection but I can't drag events to that either.
I Like using FCPX but maybe I haven't adjusted my thinking from FCP7 on this part of media workflow. There must be a simple solution but I can't seem to find it. Any suggestions or tutorial links will be appreciated.
Thanks for your help.
Peace, Huey
