Time Capsule incompatible with Carbonite?

I recently set up Carbonite on my MacBook Pro. According to the Carbonite documentation, you should be able to continue running Time Machine, as long as you exclude Carbonite itself from the backup. I added Carbonite to the exclusion list, but shortly after I started my initial Carbonite backup, I started getting errors from Time Machine suggesting that the backup on the Time Capsule drive was corrupted and it needed to make a whole new initial snapshot backup. And if I give it approval to do that, it gives another error saying it couldn't delete the old sparsebundle file. So I'm not quite sure what to do. Just take the computer and Time Capsule into an Apple Store to see if the Genius Bar guys can think of something?
