Q: Internet connection stops working unless I disconnect and reconnect wifi regularly

Use Wireless Diagnostics to help you resolve Wi-Fi issues on your Mac -- Even with a new router, the firmware can need updating. But this article can go a long way to pointing out where the issue is.
Potential sources of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interference -- Since this isn't happening with all of your devices, it could be other things blocking the signal. Here are some potential sources.
Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points -- Since your router is "new-ish" make sure that the settings are correct.Have a great day!

Aug 18, 2016 10:37 AMby peederjigson,Hi, I don't actually have a problem staying connected to Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi connection is stable. It's the internet connection that goes down. But disconnecting and reconnecting the Wi-Fi fixes the problem when it happens. Unfortunately I have to do this every twenty minutes or so.
