Q: The screen on my iPad mini won't turn on

The screen on my iPad mini will not turn on. When I hold the home button, Siri will make the "I am listening" noise but it takes several minutes for it to respond. I tried plugging it into the power to charge it but it is unresponsive. I also tried plugging it into my computer but to no avail.
