Activating effect half way through clip?

Hi, my name is Will and I am relatively new to FCPX.

I'm in the middle of an edit where I have a final clip with a rising ken burns pedestal and some titles. I wanted to add in a "gaussian" blur effect just when the second wave of titles appear.

Naturally, I thought of just splitting the clip at the starting point, but this skews with the ken burns tilt I originally had throughout. Since the ken burns requires (to the best of my knowledge) a brief moment for acceleration, it doesn't continue the same seamless pedestal motion I was hoping for between the split clip. It starts a new ken burns motion effect, even if the exit frame position and starting frame position between the two clips are in the correct coordinates. The need for acceleration for the effect ruins all fluidity.

So, back to my original point, is there a way to simply activate the blur effect halfway through a clip instead? OR, is there a way to modify the ken burns effect further across both clips for seamless motion?

Thanks for the time!

Final Cut Pro X, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5), Most current version of FCPX.

So I looked through and had initially thought of using the reverse starting/ending button, but when I wrote this question earlier today, I still had the issue of the effect easing into its progression, even from clip to clip. But just moments ago (via rick-clicking the frame), I learned that you in fact CAN control the easing-in/easing-out presets of the Ken Burns effect. With that, I switched my second clip to the "linear" progression pace and it worked like a charm. Among those options were the default "ease in/out," and the options to just ease in or just ease out.

So I guess with that, I found out what I needed for my edit, by mistake, really. But just one last thing: is anyone else having issues using just the ease-in or ease-out presets? The ease-in/out option with both seems to work, and so does the linear option. But whenever I try the other two, it sounds as the combined in and out acceleration/deceleration rather than just being the option it advertises. Is this a bug?
