Q: iMessages not going through consistently

For the past few weeks my iMessages to a specific contact have not been going through consistently. It started off every few would just send and not show delivered and my friend would not get them. Lately it has been way more frequently. We both have strong signals and both of our phones are on. I usually do not have send as SMS as a back up selected but I did try it the other night since I was having issues again and they say sent as a text message but nothing gets received. Any idea how to fix this? I do not have this problem with any of my other contacts.

    It's a pleasure to see you here in the Apple Support Communities. Those iMessages are a fantastic way to keep in touch with friends, family and many more. Excellent isolation and realizing that this inability to send a message is only happening with one of your contacts. Let's work together here and get that conversation flowing again! Here's a phenomenal resource to work through. I know that you've mentioned a few of the items here, so let's start at the top and work through everything one more time: 

     

    If you can‘t send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

     

    For kicks and giggles, you can send this information to your contact as well. Maybe the underlying snag is with their device.
