Is my iPod touch 6 headphone jack broken?

I bought my iPod months ago ..it's a 6th gen .. 16gb bought from target..

(and for some reason the paint is chipping on the bottom )

Anyway last month my skull candy headphones werent working right in my iPod. The sound was all staticky and if I turned the wire the sound would go in and out . Brought them back to the store I got them from cause I have a warenty on them. The guy said they were fine (after plunging them into his phone) . He said it might be my device . But gave me a new pair .

A Few days ago my headphones started acting up again like the first time .

movinng the wire around would cause static and the sound would go in and out .

I plugged them into my computer , iPad and Nintendo 3ds.. I moved the wire around and they were fine .

so basicly fine in anythjng but the iPod touch . Today it got worse ..

plugged the headphones into other devices and I guess my iPod broke them.

I've cleaned the jack out with a q tip .. No dust or dirt .

What could be the problem?

tbought about getting wireless headphones but then I can't use them on my computer or Nintendo 3ds..

sorry if I wrote alot .. Just disgussted .. dont really have the money to fix this . Also earbuds that came with the iPod the sound is really low . So I'm guessing the iPod did something to them as well.

- Try another pair of headphones

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Also try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

Thanks for the advice .. Tried cleaning out the jack . Everything seemed to be fine . No dirt or anything . Even held a flashlight over it to look inside . Nothing looks Broken . Unless it's somthing I'm unable to see .

I would bring it to the Apple Store but I really can't afford to.

also my neice got water on my screen there's a mark from a few months ago. im now wondering if that's a issue .
