Q: Apple broke my iBooks sync across all devices

I was rolling through the menu's in iBooks last night on my Mac when I mistakenly clicked on File -> Move books from iTunes. This had then unfortunate consequence of completely messing up my iCloud driven book library. MY iBook's library is populated with many, painstakingly converted from other formats, epubs that where not purchased from the iBooks store. Now, I no longer see the 100+ documents I kept in iCloud as epubs on either my iPhone or iPad. Big annoyance.

Ive attempted turing off iBooks and back on again on both devices, neither see the titles I have on my mac. The thing that burns me the most is; I'm prompted to confirm just about EVERY action I take on OS X. But I wasn't prompted to confirm I want to import books from iTunes and I think it broke my iCloud book library. Another glaring annoyance is, while in finder browsing my iCloud drive, I can see no books. However, I've added an ePub after this debacle and the new ePub syncs to my iPhone & iPad. Where is it apple? What did you do with my stuff?

Anyone hit this and fix it in the past? Care to share?

Thank you

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Replying to my post, I found a solution/work around.

    Open iBooks and select All Books

    Navigate to System Preferences->iCloud

    Click options and un-check the checkbox next to iBooks

    Then re-check iBooks.

    iBooks will ask if you want to use iCloud and re-sync all your goodies. Hope this helps someone, sometime.

    The only successful workaround I have found is to copy the ePubs to Dropbox, then on the iOS device open the Dropbox app, select an ePub, select export from the ... menu, you then have access to the iOS sharing menu - choose open in application, select copy to iBooks and it moves it over to iBooks on your iOS device.

    Apple support does not even reply, sad.
