el capitan 10.11.6 web page loading speed problems

ever since I upgraded any website I look at with any browser takes longer and longer to load - sometimes so long it actually times out. No other devices on my network have this issue and I am 100mb fiber hardlined in via ethernet cable.

Seems like my mac is doing some kind of processing behind the scenes that is messing the whole thing up, but I can't find anything that can confirm that...

regardless I want to know how I can fix this?

Any ideas?
