Q: getting icloud bak up on new phone

when I am trying to retrieve my back-up to my new phone, it is asking my for a password, that is not my apple ID. It's someone from my contacts. I have reset my password, and retried, but same result. Please help.

Is this really a new phone or did you get it second-hand (from someone in your contacts)? If it is not new, you will need to get the previous owner to unlock it for you:

Turn off Find My iPhone Activation Lock - Apple Support

Take the phone, the original purchase receipt, and a photo ID to an Apple Store.
