Q: iMac 5K takes ages to wake up from sleep
If my 5K iMac has been asleep for a while, when I press the space bar to wake it up, it takes about 10 seconds to wake up from sleep. The screen immediately turns on and the desktop appears, but the dock is white and the Mac is unresponsive. A second or so later, the screen turns black but with a small corrupted image in the far top left. At this point I can hear the HDD spinning up. My Mac has a Fusion Drive. Then the desktop appears again as normal and I can use my Mac. However, I have to turn Wifi off and on again to get it to work. Does anyone else get this?

Reset the SMC, as per > Reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac - Apple Support
reset the NVRAM, as per > How to Reset NVRAM on your Mac - Apple Support
and then test it.
Then if it is still having trouble,
try starting up in Safe Mode, as per > Try safe mode if your Mac doesn't finish starting up - Apple Support
followed by a normal start-up and then test it again.
If still acting up, backup and reinstall OS X, as per > How to reinstall OS X - Apple Support
If none of the above seem to solve the problem, then your next best bet is to contact Apple and make a Service Appointment with your local Apple Store or AASP, as per > Mac desktops Service Answer Center - Apple Support
