Q: iOS 9.3.4 and message notifications

Since I upgraded all of my devices to iOS 9.3.4, one of my iPhone 6's no longer shows my notifications when I get text and iMessages. I also do not have the red notification indication on the message application since the update. I am only having this issue on one of my iPhone 6's. I do not have this issue on an identical iPhone 6, my iPhone 6S, or either of my iPads. Anyone else seeing this and if so, do you know the fix? Thank you in advance.

First (and easiest) thing to try is a restart and/or forced restart:

This may also help:

especially the section "If you don't see notifications for a specific app".

 

Next would be a backup/restore or restore as new:

Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

 

Hopefully it will not come down to the last step.
