Q: Unable to download or sync music from my library using the Apple Music android app

I am unable to download or sync my Apple music library on my Android device in the Apple Music app.

I have been using Apple music on Android for the past few months, but recently switched from a Nexus 5 to a Moto G4 Plus.

I installed the Apple Music app and logged in as usual. Upon selecting the My Music option in the menu, the app tried to update my library but gave a message 'Don't Miss a Beat - Find your favourites and add them to My Music, then come back and enjoy them here'.

I already have a couple of hundred songs in My Music which I can access on my desktop and could access on my Nexus 5 as well.

I have tried adding new songs from the app, but that won't happen. Nor does the app let me download any music from the browse section.

I can stream music, but not download and sync.

Anyone else facing the same problem? Or Anyone who can suggest me a way out?

    Hey there AppleUser_4491!

It's definitely nice to have your favorites saved to the Apple Music app for easy playback. If you haven't check out the steps in this article: Get help with Apple Music on Android - Apple Support

    Try restarting the application first:

    Restart the app

Most issues resolve if you quit Apple Music and then reopen it.

To make sure that the app is completely closed and all background processes are stopped before you reopen it, follow these steps:

    1. From the Home screen, tap Apps.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Scroll down to Applications and tap "Application manager."
    4. Tap Apple Music.
    5. Tap Force Stop. If you see a message that says "If you force stop an app, it may cause errors," tap OK.
    6. Return to the Home screen or your application list, and reopen Apple Music.

Let us know how the steps in the article work out.

    Cheers!

Hi Chris_g1 thank you for your prompt reply.

I have tried restarting the app, restarting the phone, clearing the Cache and uninstalling - reinstalling the app as well.

But, unfortunately the problem still persists. The app does not sync with my music library or let me download my favourite songs for playing offline.

Any other fix that might help me solve this issue?

Hi chris_g1, I found a solution for this.

Downloaded an earlier version of the Apple Music app (When it was still in Beta) then logged in and, my music synced and I could download my music again for offline use.

I then updated the app from the Google Play Store and now everything is working fine.

    Enjoying the music again!!
