Aug 18, 2016 3:48 PM in response to Csound1by TotallyMG,Thank you for responding Csound1.
I guess I failed to ask the important question.
How? and Where do I initialize? This is my first time doing this.

Aug 18, 2016 3:55 PM in response to TotallyMGby Grant Bennet-Alder,Where you were running First Aid, choose the entire Drive (by manufacturer-name, and choose the Partition button. deliberately choose 1 partition (DO NOT choose "as partitioned", even if one) and check the boxes below for GUID partition scheme, MacOS Extended (journaled) Volume, and the name of your choice. It will complete in a bout a minute, maybe less.
If to shows something other than the values for GUID partition scheme and MacOS Extended( journaled), you will have to choose ERASE first, then partition.

Aug 18, 2016 4:36 PM in response to Grant Bennet-Alderby TotallyMG,Thank you Grant. I did have to erase first. And now my HDD is initialized. Great.
I have one more problem I hope either you or Csound1 can help me with.
This is an issue with my wireless keyboard and wireless mouse and my computer.
The communication between my mouse and keyboard are fine as you can tell.
The problem is at boot up. For some reason....the computer can't find my mouse or keyboard.
I will get a "No keyboard found" message. The daisy wheel will continue to spin and search.
I then will have to turn both my mouse and keyboard off and on several times before it finally connects.
Even after it finds the keyboard and mouse it seems to loose the signal and searches again.
From the time I press the ON button to the time it recognizes and connects, is about 5 mins.
Any ideas as to what may be going on? I didn't have this problem when I first purchased the wireless stuff.

Aug 18, 2016 6:10 PM in response to TotallyMGby Grant Bennet-Alder,How are the batteries in those units?
One anecdote suggest you put a piece of paper in where the batteries go. I have no idea whether that wiggles the batteries enough to remove corrosion, or tightens up the spacing, or if it is just superstition. Paper is only about 0.003-in thick, slightly more that a press-fit tolerance. A Hollerith card is 0.007-in thick.
Of course you cannot put the paper so that it interrupts the circuit, or nothing works.
If that does not work, start a new thread (with a catchy title) to get the attention of Users who have had this problem and solved it.
