How to turn off the duf-mode? #hard

Hey community,

i've a big problem with my iPhone 5c. I turned on the duf-mode to update my IPhone, but there have been an error message, which said that there is an error to update the phone. [-18]

After canceling the whole session, i tried to turn off the DUF-mode. But it fails! So I'am situated in a trap or in a circle of death 😀 My phone stays in this mode. I've also tried the different key combinations, but that also fails.

Is somebody able to help me?

iPhone 5c, iOS 9.3.4

Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo.

Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen and wait for it to restore.

You may have to do the above more than once as recovery mode is difficult to get into.

Restore as New first and test it. Then restore from backup if desired. If the backup is corrupted it will likely bring back the issue.

I think he may have been referring to DFU mode, not DUF mode but he would have to speak for himself... 😉

If the Recovery Mode steps I mentioned do not work, even when restoring as New, I would suspect that your phone has a hardware defect and you should take it to Apple for evaluation (Apple Stores are no longer called stores, I hear).
