How do I insert a hyperlink short cut into Numbers?

Am I missing something, because I've searched on the support site and on Google only to find nothing on how to do this! I have an excel spreadsheet that I converted and realized there was no visible way to insert a shortcut. In Excel it is very easy - copy the hyperlink, rename it and paste it!

Is this function truly not available in Numbers, or are the instructions well hidden?

Thanks

Angie

Hi Angie,

In your menu at Edit > Substitutions > Smart Links you can toggle on and off the automatic recognition of links.

To edit a link, triple-click in white space to the right of it in the cell (you may need to drag the column wider to give room to click) until all the text in the cell is highlighted and choose Format > Edit Link from the menu.

Hi Angie,

Glad the tips helped. To me treatment of hyperlinks has always seemed a little "clunky" in Numbers, especially compared to Excel, but once you know to triple-click and then go in the menu, etc. at least you can get basic things done, though it might not hurt for you to give feedback to Apple via Numbers > Provide Numbers Feedback in your menu. Thanks for the green check!
