Suddenly: "You don't have an Apple Music membership"

Suddenly the Android app doesn't recognize my membership anymore. It seems I am logged in, I can see my name, my settings, my payment details. But music won't play, any attempt to play results in a window "Join Apple Music". After a restart it says "You don't have an Apple Music membership".

I just tried on Windows, and in iTunes everything seems fine, I can play music, my subscription is on Auto renewal, as it always has been and will renew on Aug. 20. Just the Android app out of the blue doesn't recognize me as a member. I didn't touch any settings, just wanted to play another album from my library. What is going on?
