Q: phone stuck on white apple screen, home button broken

Yesterday morning I woke up to find my phone completely dead, just stuck on a black screen. Decided to put it on charge and after a couple of hours the white apple logo screen came up and wouldn't go away even when holding the off button. Decided to let the battery drain and a couple of hours before it completely drained the screen went amber, as if the night time filter was on it. When battery completely drained off it showed the dead battery display normally. Went to put phone on charge for a second time and now its stuck on the white apple logo again.

Any idea what I can do? my home button is broken and my iTunes won't recognise it even though it recognises other devices

iPhone 5s, iOS 9.3.2

This is what I would recommend based on your issues but with a broken Home button there is not much you can do other than taking it in for repair.

    Recovery Mode:

Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes.

While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo.

Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen and wait for it to restore.

You may have to do the above more than once as recovery mode is difficult to get into.

Restore as New first and test it. Then restore from backup if desired. If the backup is corrupted it will likely bring back the issue.
