How do i place a website in the first position an my bookmark bar that is across the safari page?
Press and hold it, then drag it.

this works on my mac. not on the iPad. But thanks, i figured it out using the cloud and sync the 2 devices.
Do you mean the Favorites Bar ?
yes the "favorites bar". after googling what i wanted to do ( before the forum) there seemed to be a lot of confusion as what exactly to call it. The answers bounced back and forth between calling it a bookmarks bar and favorites bar. but i fixed the problem on my own. thanks
Thanks for the clarification. The reason I asked it can be done right on your iPad. So for next time here goes. Tap the bookmark icon. Tap Favorites. Tap edit. Hold your finger on the three bars that follow the Favorite and slide it into the first position. Tap done.
thanks, that is easier than going to the cloud and having my wife's 600 book marks and favorites dumped on to my mac 🙂

If you asked the same question 2 years ago I would have suggested making seconds of all your Favorites then deleting the originals until the one you wanted was in first place, a fun way to spend your Saturday. 🙂
