Ipod nano 2g exploded

Hi

I recently purchased an Ipod nano 2nd Gen, I plugged it in to charge and about 30 mins later and heard cracking noises when I came to it the power got tripped off it and the screen was cracked (I think the battery must have expanded giving pressure to the screen) And the top was warped (I'm also going to be returning it)
