Q: Can No Longer Log Into iMessage

About a week ago I was kicked out of iMessage, and when I tried to log back in, it popped up saying, 'Verify an email address: A verified email address is required to sign in to iMessage'. If I click on 'verify' it just redirects me to the Apple ID home page and prompts me to log in. The only thing on the page when I logged it was 'Update your Apple ID', with nothing to click on.

I thought maybe it didn't like that my password no longer met the security requirements, so I logged out and hit 'forgot password' instead. Reset my password and security questions. I thought I could fix the verification problems by enabling two step verification. Which apparently now I was locked out of doing for three days because I changed my password and security questions...

Anyway today I could set it up. Set up the two step verification, have my phone and iPad as trusted devices. I tried to log in again. Let me get the verification code from my phone, but after I entered the code, it came up with the same dialogue box. 'Verify an email address: A verified email address is required to sign in to iMessage'. Clicking 'verify' still redirects to the Apple ID page. There is nothing on the Apple ID page about verifying your email, and I don't receive any email about verification.

Is there anyway to fix this, or should I just accept I can never use iMessage again?
