Q: told there is a firmware update available for my 3T time capsule. I get "an error occurred in downloading". how do I find the problem?

I am told there is a firmware update available for my 3T time capsule. I get  "an error occurred in downloading" message. how do I find the problem? i have elcapitan 10.11.6 and capsule version 7.7.3

MacBook Pro, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Try, temporarily, connecting your MacBook Pro to your Time Capsule using an Ethernet connection ... if not already, and try the firmware download again.
