Q: How to move/copy a wpd document from libre office to pages

I have about 3000 wordperfect documents on an external hard drive from  a windows computer that need to be moved to a new imac computer.   I am new to mac and need to know the keyboard commands to move these documents.  For example, I have one document open in libre office and saved to pages but it is not really there in pages yet.  It's blank.  I have formatted the document in pages and need to know the keystrokes to get the document into pages .

iMac with Retina 5K display, OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

Open the WordPerfect documents in LibreOffice and save them as Word .doc/x files which Pages can open.

    There may be changes however.

Or you can click in the open WP documents in LibreOffice, command a (select All), command c (Copy), click in the Pages document, command v (paste).

I'd think twice before moving all my documents into Pages. .pages is a completely incompatible format that Apple keeps changing to make even more incompatible. If something goes wrong with a .pages file you can forget about trying to rescue it as the format, despite being extremely bloated is practically unparseable.

If you want long term access to those files, keep them as .rtf files, which most appliactions can open, but typically not Pages 5, or as Word .doc/x files which is by default a standard, or as LibreOffice open document files because they are designed to be archived and supported for the future. Apple does not maintain file formats for long periods of time, changing them whenever it feels like, which is far too often and without notice.

If your work is important or for business and required for perpetuity, do not save it in any Apple file format.
