Itunes EXTREMELY slow in Windows 10

Hello, I have a Dell Windows 10 computer with iTunes 12.4.3.1. iTunes runs EXTREMELY slow. When I got change from the podcasts list to "recent updates" I go to my browser and use the web for awhile it is so slow. My computer has an I7 Quad core 3.4 GHz with 16GB ram and a SATA-3 SSD. It should fly like the wind like other programs do.

BrentMC,

They'll probably delete this reply, because it doesn't paint a happy rosey picture about apple or it's crapware.

iTunes is just plain slow. Get yourself another player. 6 years later and many many /feedbacks later, still no fix. You'll notice the person didn't even respond appropriately, pointing you to a non-related article. Typical.

If you have 2 songs in your library, it'll be snappy. Somewhere around 1000 songs, the thing goes to slow mode and only gets worse from there.

wow this is unbelievable, I remember I had exactly same problems like 7 years ago and decided to not use iTunes back then...

7 years later, today I have just moved all my library to iTunes as I would have never guessed that this is still an issue. Decided to move to iTunes just because of its integration with rekordbox.

And just found this thread here dating Jun 1, 2017 after experiencing search function lagging..

This just brings tears to my eyes......

Hi Brent,

Not sure why more people are not asking this same question. iTunes is so slow.. it seems they need to scrap whatever code they are using and they should start from scratch. I am sure there is some funny business with the code driving this interface. It just cannot be so slow.

@Apple: Thanks for taking my money each month, kindly provide a working iTunes which does not seem like it's running on a Pentium MMX. My Celeron used to run Winamp faster than this. You know what purchase the Winamp source code and integrate your DRM and Services stuff.. This would be much better than what you are shipping now.

BTW: I have worked with Apple some 7 Yrs ago. I never expected below par stuff to make it to customers. I personally used to love the level of detail we went into to make sure we give the best to the customer. That's why an Apple product is worth it's price. The current iTunes app on windows is slow that it's a shame.

Upset with current quality at Apple (that inspired me to always pursue best & innovative way to make anything).

They used to be folks who never took shortcuts.
