Q: Can I append to a Final Cut Pro X archive?
I'm archiving some older DV tapes using FCPX's Import Media/Archive function. Because of a glitch in the tape, FCPX stops at that point and thinks the archive is done, even though there's more on the tape. Is there some way to make an archive of the rest of the tape (which I don't see how to do since Archive always rewinds the tape) and then append this new archive to the original one?
Or, worst case, is there any other solution to force FCPX to archive to the end of the tape, even with the glitch near the end? I prefer the former because I wouldn't need to redo the entire import.
The Archive function is somewhat problematical in this regard because it cannot guarantee that a faithful archive is being made. I need to check the last clip in the archive with the last clip on the tape to make sure it's been done correctly.
