I need to find a how to reset my password sign in to get into my MacBook how do I do it

I change t I forgot the password for the master account to get into my MacBook. I wrote it down somewhere but evidently I missed placed in the process of my movie and when I turn it on. It actually are the sign in name which I'm a author rise of account holder. It pops up there my name but it actually my password . So how do I get into it you change the password to reset it

Please see Change or reset the password of an OS X user account - Apple Support .

If you can boot into Local Recovery - Command+R - About OS X Recovery - Apple Support - and in Utilities -> Terminal, enter resetpassword command.

If none of these methods work, you can boot in single-user mode - OS X El Capitan: Start up in single-user mode and use Terminal commands to reset the password.
