Q: If I downgrade to iOS 9.3.4 will it erase everything?

Since I had iOS 10 my phone has been glitching and freezing ever since so in apple support they told me to downgrade back to iOS 9.3.4 so I will, but before I do it I would want to know will it erase everything even if it backed up?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.4

It will restore to factory settings then restore from a backup > About iOS beta software - Apple Support
