How do you delete an empty album in Photos?

I have deleted photos in an album. When I tried to delete the empty it would not delete using delete or comman-delete.

iMac (Intel), Mac OS X (10.6.2), MacBook (Intel)

Thanks. We had to figure out what right click meant on our iMac. This worked fine with empty albums, but when we tried to delete an album with photos a message popped up saying, that the album would be deleted but the photos would be retained (somewhere). Do we need to delete photos individually first?

Right click is clicking the right hand mouse button, or on a trackpad using the finger combination that you have defined as "right Click" in the system preferences for your trackpad or holding down the control key while clicking

Deleting an album does not affect the photos in the album - it simply deletes the album and the photos remain in Photo and in all other albums they may have been in

You stated that you wanted to delete an empty album therefore according to you there are no photos in the album so your follow on question makes no sense

If you have photos in an album that you want to delete (a new and different question) then you open the album, select the photos and hold down the command key whille pressing the delete key - this will delete the photos throughout Photos and move them to the recently deleted album where they will be deleted from yoru Mac in 30 days or when you delete them there, which ever is first
