.h file, really?

First, I want to thank Eugen for his answers. I turned to said page 393, and tried creating a .h file. Unfortunately, it didnt let me save a .h file, saying

"Names that begin with a dot are reserved for the system.
If you decide to go ahead and use a name which begins with a dot the file will be hidden."

So I tried to call the file quicktime.h or qt.h, or whatever, and put it in the right folder. To no avail. The preset is still "auto" (I dont know what that auto defaults to, since the file out rendered file isnt readable by anything), and when i switch to quicktime, animation 24P is still the preset...

Erm, what was the original intent - you wanted to save another codec or sumtin', right? Which codec was it?

Here's what you want for DV - PAL, 25P. Be careful that the posting doesn't introduce carriage returns

sys.QTDefaultSettings =
"100W@48000WDcsuH@me10pFnKA6W230PoeyJHy5gKJbA4g#LS8fWY6QW642GkiKh16uGm8#J#12XIA k8IQG0HAfabm6cWOHLmCq0yvAQvIedVn58JB79ge5h4AEX2AKfk8YmhzM4XQg5aROODAcXnK8AnC30gH i8KmBrn9BMtCeaUEfMd1YBYw8wvb00Qih29BYBK#ZUfv9vqIFW@EcnDmmkKTGT5l1nh8sZKefM88kbOO MQgb5JGPkggHy04fP2gW1U0000040000087";

Thanks, but the problem (maybe I wasnt clear) is not that I cant find the correct string of characters. I have found them, and I followed the instructions of the manual. As I said, the problem is that I cant save the file. Because I try to save it as ".h". And, as I mentionned, OSX doesnt let me save a file with this name, it says that .something files are system files. But the manual says you should save it to a ".h" file. I tried several names, like qt.h or quicktime.h, but it didnt seem to change the default to quicktime DV 25P. Its still animation 24p

Okay. Heres where Im at so far.
1. What worked was saving the string you wrote (sys.QTDefaultSettings =
"100W@48000WDcsuH@me10pFnKA6W230PoeyJHy5gKJbA4g#LS8fWY6QW642GkiKh16uGm8#J#12XIAk 8IQG0HAfabm6cWOHLmCq0yvAQvIedVn58JB79ge5h4AEX2AKfk8YmhzM4XQg5aROODAcXnK8AnC30gHi 8KmBrn9BMtCeaUEfMd1YBYw8wvb00Qih29BYBK#ZUfv9vqIFW@EcnDmmkKTGT5l1nh8sZKefM88kbOOM Qgb5JGPkggHy04fP2gW1U0000040000087;"; ) into a defaultui.h file that I put in nreal/include/startup.
2. I did not change the defaultui file in settings, because Shake wouldnt start.
Now its almost perfect... But the frame rate is 24. Could you please post the correct string for 25P, because the I tried following the manual P.393 and it didnt work? Thanks
