The USB-C to USB adapter I bought with my macbook doesn't work, I have the warranty/protection plan/whatever, how do I get the adapter switched out for one that works? The support section is totally useless and it's impossible to find anything helpful. The nearest Apple store is over two hours away and I just can't fit it in my schedule to go there just to get their faulty cord replaced.

This is generally not true (at least in the U.S.) - assuming no abuse to the accessories, of course.
So you believe that the MacBook's Applecare 3 year warranty coverage is applicable to a separately purchased USB-C to USB adapter?

I am saying the accessories tend to be warrantied for at least one year. Regarding whether AppleCare covers them for two additional years, I have no experience there.

It is not mine. The USB-C MacBook was introduced 17 months ago. So it's possible the OP has a MacBook more than a year old, and you may be right. I'm sure the OP will tell us if that is the case.
