Q: Trouble conecting Time Capsule

I used to use my time capsule with airport for wifi, but recently got an all-in-one unit from comcast so the internet no longer goes through the time capsule.  I would now like to set it up with time machine to back up my hard drive.  However, I currently do not have it connected by wire to my mac mini.  I do not see the disk in finder or disk utility like I used to.  Is there any way to connect to it wirelessly? Or am I going to have to connect it by USB?  Or worse do I have to somehow route through the device comcast sent?  Thanks for your help

The Time Capsule will need to be reset back to default settings and then connected to the Comcast modem/router using a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection. Connect the cable from one of the LAN <--> ports on the modem/router to the WAN "O" port on the Time Capsule.

Set up the Time Capsule to create a wireless network and use that network to back up your Mac. It might be possible to back up the Mac to the Time Capsule using the Comcast wireless, but this would not be officially supported by Apple.....so no help in the event of difficulties.

In other words, Apple wants you to back up the Mac using the Time Capsule wireless.....or.....turn off the WiFi on the Mac, connect another Ethernet cable from your Mac to one of the three LAN <--> ports on the back of the Time Capsule, and back up directly that way.
