Q: ICloud problems

Hi, I have 2 phones, 1 I use all the time and an old one that my son was using for a while.  The icloud account set up on mine was the same as the old one, as this is my icloud account.  However when my son started using the old iPhone each time I logged into icloud I lost all my contacts and they were replaced by the ones my son had.  I've erased my sons iPhone and he no longer uses this but the same problem keeps happening with my phone.  I've tried erasing my phone and restoring from an icloud back up ut as soon as I log into icloud the same thing happens.......any help would be appreciated as all my work phone numbers are stored on my phone.

Thanks

    Hello John,

Thanks for that info and choosing the Apple Support Communities. I know how important using iCloud with both of your iPhones is to you! Based on what you stated, it seems that iCloud is syncing changes made on both iPhones because they are signed into the same Apple ID. Sharing an Apple ID/iCloud account with someone is not recommended, as they can cause the issues you're experiencing. Here is more info to help explain:

The good news is you can setup a new Apple ID for the iPhone your son is using to resolve your issue, and features like Family Sharing puts you in control of your son’s account. Check out this article to help get this process started:

    Cheers!
