Update ipod touch OS
Device is 8yrs old and when I attach it to my laptop then open itunes, I don't see the device. Any help?

Your iPod is too outdated to update beyond the iOS version that's currently installed.

What version of iTunes is installed? YOu still should be able to sync meusic to your old iPod.
