Q: Another Q ref iTunes and apps

As I said in earlier message I had to wipe and reinstall my iPhone and am downloading, or trying to, the apps etc. that were on it.  I clicked on My Apps and IPhone Apps and a bunch of things are listed there.  some have the usual icons and then some are white only - i.e., the AARP Now app is whited and when I click got download it says "The app AARP Now could not be used because the original file could not be found.  Would you like to locate it?" I did locate it apparently but there are quite a lot of those and isn't there a better way to do that??  Can I just find and click and drag apps to the Mobile Applications folder, or put it in the Automatically import folder?  I did find a few in the clone backup of my drive so I could pull them over = but maybe that's not the way to do it???

    Hi Victoria Herring,

Thanks for stopping by the Apple Support Communities today. It appears that you are wanting to reinstall the apps that were previously on your iPhone before you erased the iPhone. I have certain apps I use on a daily basis and I will be happy to help you with this.

The easiest way to reinstall your apps is to Download your past purchases

On an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

    1. Open the App Store app.
    2. On an iPhone or iPod touch: Tap Updates, then tap Purchased. On an iPad: Tap Purchased.
    3. Find the app that you want to download, then tap the Download icon  . After the app downloads, you can open it from your Home screen.

    Cheers!

Thanks much - I did go into iTunes and downloaded all purchases - in iTunes I then mark the ones I want to install [I don't want to install all of them - just the ones I choose] and some install just fine but others come up with "Some apps not installed because it could not be found" And then I check and it lists the ones that won't install."  And Updating on the iPhone only updates [installs] the ones already on the iPhone - it doesn't put new/old but to reinstall ones on the iPhone.  I just tried it.

    Thank you for your help

Thanks for getting back to us, Victoria Herring. What you would want to do next is to go on the iPhone and go to App Store > Updates > Purchased > Not on This iPhone. You will see a list of all the apps that are not currently on your iPhone and can then select the ones you want and download from there.

    Have a great day!
